CLASS RULES - WE WILL BE RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, AND SAFE!
1. Listen and do - Peace and quiet when we blow the whistle twice lets you know we are ready to talk, so you need to be ready to listen.
2. Hands off - Keeping our hands and other body parts to ourselves means we are respecting each other's personal space.
3 Be careful - Use caution with each other and with our equipment. Use the playground equip-ment safely and treat it with care.
4. Be nice - Treat others the way you want to be treated....."The Golden Rule."
5. Be a good sport - Saying something as simple as "good game" after an activity, never blaming anyone for a loss, and just remembering that we do all of our activities in the name of fun and health is always the way to go.

CONSEQUENCES
When we choose to break a rule there must be consequences.
1ST OFFENSE = Warning - This can either come as a verbal or non-verbal warning. We will cover examples of this on the first day of school and will remind the kids often!
2ND OFFENSE = Time Out - This is a removal from the rest of the class for a short period of time (usually 5 min.). The amount of time usually depends on how long a child takes to regain his or her composure. He or she will be let back into the activity once their coach has assessed them.
3RD OFFENSE = There may be several consequences given depending on the teachers discretion and judgement of each situation. The severity of the offense may only warrant removing the privilege of sitting with their classmates during lunch time or if more severe parents will be notified of the student's behavior.
4TH OFFENSE = Referral to Principal - The student will receive a discipline referral to the principal and be called into the principal's office to address the behavior. Parents will receive notification and the incident will be put in the student's permanent record.
We will always follow this procedure, but offenses deemed as serious by the EPISD code of conduct such as destroying school property, vandalism, and fighting will always begin with a referral to the principal.
